ABOUT IMANIDRAWS

Leah Spears, aka ImaniDraws, is a self-published comic illustrator, storyboarder, and visual artist based in Chicago. Her passion in any work she does is to tell an engaging story. Having learned the foundations of cartooning and sold art at various events,her artistic practice have provided her the ability to articulate complex feelings and ideas as seen in her work.

Leah received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), and is currently getting her MFA in Comics from the California College of the Arts (CCA). Any relevant coursework including but not limited to figure drawing, writing, and comic illustration provides her with the essential knowledge in creating sequential art and crafting a character.
